By Car

The campus of Dortmund University is located near the Dortmund West motorway junction, where the A45 Sauerland line crosses the B1/A40 Ruhr expressway. The Dortmund-Eichlinghofen exit on the A45 leads to the South Campus, the Dortmund-Dorstfeld exit on the A40 leads to the North Campus. The university is signposted at both exits.

By public transport

The "Dortmund Universität" S-Bahn station is located directly on the North Campus. From there, the S-Bahn line S1 runs every 15 or 30 minutes to Dortmund main station and in the opposite direction to Düsseldorf main station via Bochum, Essen and Duisburg. The university can also be reached by bus lines 445, 447 and 462. Timetable information can be found on the homepage of the Rhine-Ruhr Transport Association, and DSW21 also offer an interactive route network map.

By 'H-Bahn'

The H-Bahn, an elevated railway, is one of the landmarks of the TU Dortmund. Line 1 runs every 10 minutes between Dortmund Eichlinghofen and the Technology Centre via Campus South and Dortmund University S, while Line 2 commutes every 5 minutes between Campus North and Campus South. It covers this distance in two minutes.

By plane

From Dortmund Airport, it takes just over 20 minutes to get to Dortmund Central Station with the AirportExpress and from there to the university with the S-Bahn. Düsseldorf Airport, about 60 kilometres away, offers a wider range of international flight connections and can be reached directly by S-Bahn from the university station.

Visually Integrated Cooperation

Visually Integrated Clinical Cooperation

Subproject A06 in the Collaborative Research Center 1187 "Media of Cooperation". The subproject examines treatment processes in a neurosurgical ward based on the division of labor. Furthermore, it develops new display modes for the visual integration of diagnostic-cooperative data within the framework of a visualization prototype.

Team of the A06 subproject

Coordinating closely with sociology, computer science and neurosurgery, in particular forms of body-related visualization for cooperative treatment executions are developed and tested under practical conditions. The joint work of the disciplines involved continues the development of concepts and methods of symmetrical technology development and theory building, and integrates them in an interdisciplinary development approach.
