CRC project on repair practices

In two technographic case studies, the project explores how repair objects are made virtually accessible in the repair of everyday objects and working machines. It explores the overarching questions of how futures of different scopes are shaped in digital societies through repair practices, which limits of reparability appear in practice and which futures are currently made possible through virtualizations in repair.
Two PhD positions are available in the project (deadline: 27.05.2026): To the call for applications
The Collaborative Research Center 1567 "Virtual Lifeworlds" is an interdisciplinary research network that focuses on researching virtuality as a driving force of social and cultural transformation processes.
