Our reasearch group at the DGS Congress 2025

The theme of this year's DGS congress at the University of Duisburg-Essen was "Transitions". Our research group was able to present and discuss its own research topics in this context:
Cornelius Schubert was active as a board member of the Science and Technology Studies section and organized an ad hoc group with Tobias Boll (Mainz) on the topic of "Körper und Dinge: Transitionen materieller Sozialität".
In her lecture "Transitioning Bodies: Normierungen ambiger Geschlechtskörper in und durch die Medizin?", Ann Kristin Augst spoke about the actually well-known, but in the debate seemingly somewhat forgotten, permanent necessity to work on one's own (gender) body.
Ronja Trischler used the example of online instruction videos to talk about how repair knowledge is communicated translocally.
Mirco Spiegel discussed in his contribution "Tote Technik? Künstliche Intelligenz an der Grenze des (Nicht-mehr-)Lebendigen" AIs as new mediating media in the idea of a digital afterlife.
We were delighted with the lively participation in our contributions as well as the numerous questions, food for thought and discussions during, between and after the events and are looking forward to the congress in Mainz 2026 in the near future!
