Contributions from our research group at the DGS Congress 2025

Our research group will be represented at the upcoming congress of the German Sociological Association in September this year with various contributions from our current research.

From September 22 to 26, 2025, dimensions of change and transformation will be presented and discussed at the University of Duisburg-Essen under the theme "Transitions". Our research group will be represented with the following contributions:

Cornelius Schubert, together with Tobias Boll (Mainz), is organizing the ad hoc group 47 »Zwischen Körpern und Dingen: Transitionen und Relationen materieller Sozialität«. The thematic focus is on processes of decoupling and connecting bodies and things as transitions of the materiality of the social on different levels.

In the panel  »Transitive Körper und verkörperte Transitionen« of the Sociology of the Body and Sport section, two lectures will be given from the research group:

Ann Kristin Augst will speak together with Lena:Emil Kramheller (Lübeck) on the topic »Transitioning Bodies: Normierungen ambiger Geschlechtskörper in und durch die Medizin«

and Isabelle Bosbach will give an insight into her current research with her lecture »Der fertile Körper in Transition – Fruchtbarkeit kryotechnisch verantwortbar machen«.

Ronja Trischler is participating in the ad hoc group  »Transitionen on Rewind: Videoanalysen von Übergangsphänomenen« with her contribution »Online-Reparaturvideos: „Werkeln“ an Alltagsgegenständen anleiten«.

Mirco Spiegel will give his lecture on »Tote Technik? Künstliche Intelligenz an der Grenze des (Nicht-mehr-)Lebendigen« as part of the ad hoc group »Transitionen der (Un-)Endlichkeit. Sterben, Tod und Trauer im gesellschaftlichen Wandel« .
