On May 4 and 5, 2023, the Science and Technology Research Section met to discuss current projects, perspectives and the future of the field.

If you would like to know more, you can now do so in the conference report in Sociology of 2023, S2(4). Isabelle Bosbach, Mirco Spiegel, Ronja Trischler and Cornelius Schubert provide an concise description of the diverse and exciting contributions, which addressed topics such as the restructuring of science and socio-technical futures, as well as methodological issues. Perhaps the highlight of the conference was the panel discussion at the end, in which the speakers, in a lively exchange with the audience, attempted to locate current science and technology research, e.g. in contrast to STS, to identify current challenges and to express desiderata for shaping the future of the field.
