Presentation by Cornelius Schubert

WISSENSCHAFTLICHE TAGUNG Transformative (Sozial-)Wissenschaft? Chancen, Grenzen und Gefahren eines Gestaltungsanspruchs Görlitz, 22./23. Mai 2025 © TRAWOS
Social innovations are often considered good and desirable per se. Cornelius Schubert questions this 'pro-innovation bias' and discusses alternative concepts for shaping social change in his presentation.

From the conference flyer: "The conference is being jointly organized by the joint research projects "ATRAKTIV - Building Transformative Capacities to Activate Regional Innovation Systems" and "BePart - Participation and Partnerships in Structural Change", which are based at the TRAWOS Institute of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and the University of Siegen. Both projects are funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the "REGION.innovativ." funding line.

The presentation "The 'pro-innovation bias' of social innovations" by Cornelius Schubert opened the panel "On the controllability of social change: A critical stocktaking", which focused in particular on the relationship between science and politics.
